About John Manessis

John Manessis, Esq. has been a pivotal member of the Mallilo & Grossman team since joining as an associate in 2003. As a senior trial attorney, Mr. Manessis brings a wealth of experience to the field, as he handles a wide spectrum of personal injury matters. His has compiled an impressive record trying numerous cases and securing over 85 verdicts, while recovering millions of dollars for injured parties. Some of his most recent recoveries include $2,400,000 for a pedestrian knockdown that necessitated a lumbar fusion,  $1,600,000 for a slip and fall on ice in a parking lot resulting in spine injuries with injections as well as a cognitive loss claim, $1,150,000 for a rear end accident with cervical fusion, $1,100,000 for a taxi cab passenger who had multiple arthroscopic procedures and back surgery, $975,000 for a motor vehicle rear end resulting in a fusion and $825,000 for a trip and fall resulting in a knee surgery and spinal injuries)

Beyond his role as a trial attorney, Mr. Manessis serves as the Attorney Coordinator for the firm's highly successful Summary Jury Trial division, and mentors the associates in trial strategies, a testament to his leadership and legal acumen. His passion for litigation began when he interned for the Bronx County District Attorney's Office during law school. Before becoming an integral part of Mallilo & Grossman, Mr. Manessis was a litigation associate in other distinguished personal injury law firms in the New York City area.

Mr. Manessis earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York.  His academic journey continued at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where he earned his Juris Doctorate.  Admitted to practice in the Courts of the State of New York, Mr. Manessis also holds admission to the Federal Court in the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts. His commitment to professional organizations is reflected in his memberships with the Hellenic Lawyer's Association, the New York State Bar, the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the New York Trial Lawyers Association.

For over two decades at Mallilo and Grossman Mr. Manessis has been a dynamic force in the legal arena, contributing significantly to Mallilo & Grossman's success through his extensive trial experience, leadership, and dedication to achieving justice for his clients.Mr. Manessis is married and has four children. Outside of the office he enjoys cooking and traveling with his family and helps coach his two sons church basketball teams. He is also an avid supporter of numerous children’s charities, including St. Basils Academy and St. Jude’s Hospital. He is fluent in Greek.
