Yes. A landowner has a duty to keep his premises safe. However, the law provides for different classes of people entering upon another's property for example trespassers, invitees etc. Depending on the class of person you are and the condition the property was in at the time of the accident will conrol on whether you have a cause of action.

If i'm trick or treating and enter a person's house and that landlord puts a rope across hisdriveway with Halloween decorations and I hurt myself, do I have any legal action I can bring against landowner.
